The Millennium Trek

The Millennium Trek, as its name suggests is a trekking route that commenced from the beginning of the new millennium; 2000 and is one of the newly explored homestay (village-to-village) trekking trail in the western part of Nepal. This trekking route runs from Dulegaunda of Tanahun to Rambachha of Syangja district. It is a trekking route that traverses through the middle hills of Gandaki Province.

The major attractions of this trek is the diversity in the beautiful landscape and extremely impressive views of the snow-capped Mountains which ranges from Kanjiroba to Ganesh Himal. The main inhabitants of this region are Gurung, Brahmin, Chhetri, and Magar and therefore, this area is ethnically diverse as well as culturally rich. 

Some sightseeing destinations of the trekking route include the DhorBarahi Temple, the Millennium cave- which is an absolute natural cave with unique underground waterfalls, a mysterious cave at  the ancient temples, monasteries, and historical forts.

This trek also provides a unique opportunity for the trekkers to learn Nepali culture. While on the trek, visitors can enjoy various cultural activities like Ghatu, Sorathi, Kauda, Salaijo, Jhora, Thado Bhaka and Krishna Charitra, among others.

One of the major concerns for most trekkers- the altititude of the trek is also less of a problem here as the highest altitude on this trial is 1602 meters. This trek also offers an opportunity for the visitors to observe and enjoy more than 30 colorful villages within Tanahun and Syanja districts. It is an absolutely strain-free trekking route and anyone with a good physique can do the trekking irrespective of their ages.
