Nakachu Panchamukhi Shiwalaya Dham

Situated at the small flat top of an isolated hill with steep sides at Pelkachaur of the Syangja District is Nakachu Panchamukhi Shiwalaya Dham, also popularly called as Nakachu Mahadev in short.

This temple, now a popular religious tourist destination is one of the biggest attractions of the Millennium Trek. Nakachu Mahadev is at a height of approximately 1600m from the sea level and the noteworthy location of the temple provides the view of districts such as Tanahu, Palpa, Kaski, Managng, Gorkha and the mighty mountains Ganesh Himal, Annapurna, Machapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche, Kanjiroba etc

The Nakachu Mahadev of Pelkachaur was built very recently, in the year 2013 after Khem Gurung’s recurring dream about this place and Lord Shiva. He initiated the setup of a Shiva Temple atop the hill and since then, the place and the surrounding villagers that used to be affected by the very frequent lighting strikes among other small casualties are in peace. Shiva, the supreme power according to the Hindu religious beliefs, has played an important role in the protection of this area since the formation of this temple.

Surrounded by lush green rolling green hills, the Nakachu Mahadev temple is a remarkable place to visit. The temple has a significant religious value and is an exemplary temple of the Syangja District. One that has taken spiritual tourism in Pelkachaur, Syangja to a different level.

Try visiting this spiritual place and you will be blessed with the presence of Shiva as well as the calming effect of Nature.

Here’s a video describing the temple:

The Ghost Cave of Pelkachaur

The Cave at Pelkachaur in Syangja- which is a part of the Millennium Trekking route is locally notorious, enough to inspire it’s title as the Ghost Cave.

The Ghost Cave, home to geological features that make the visitors shiver is another one of the attractions of the Millennium Trek.

A narrow path with scary foundations leads to the inside of the cave and the locals that live near the ghost cave at Pelkachaur report that the cave is haunted with evil spirits. No matter how skeptical you are about its haunted past and present, the formations of the cave are enough to make your skin crawl.

The brave and the bold can rappel down and crawl inside the cave but be aware that the cave has two different exits. One is the normal exit and the other one leads deeper into another cave.

The full extent of the cave is unknown although mythically, it is said that this cave leads to the Dhor Barahi Temple

Here’s a video of the exploration inside the Ghost Cave:

Chandrakot Village

The beautiful Gurung dominated village of Chandrakot is boisterously poised overlooking the Annapurna Himalayan Range and getting there is a tranquil walk in the nature.

More than just the magnificient view of the mountains, Chadrakot’s distinct architectural and cultural riches are bewitching as the village of Chandrakot appears to celebrate and promote indigenous traditional housing of the hilly areas.

Nearby the Chandrakot Village are Koiphera Durbar and Pharthum that are situated atop a hill and provide a scenic view of the mountains, nearby hills and the villages. These places are also a popular picnic destination amongst the locals.

Nepal was, in the past, divided as 2200–2400 rajya (राज्य); independent states. It is said that the ‘Koiphera Durba’ was a durbar ( a palace) from those times.

Although it hasn’t been confirmed officially, at 1832 meters the Koiphera Durbar stands to be one of the highest points of the Millennium Trek.

Moreover, the farmers of the Chandrakot Village are taking to organic farming in a big way and all of these attributes contribute to making the village one of the major attractions of the Millennium Trek.

The Mysterious Cave of Rangbhang

Rangbhang (Rangvang)  is a Village Development Committee in the  Syangja District in the Gandaki Zone of central Nepal

It is a part of the Millennium Trekking Route and one of the attractions of the Trek is the Mysterious Cave at Rangbhang.

The Cave at Rangbhang is a very unexplored cave and termed ‘mysterious’ as the locals there believe that there is a kind of an evil spirit or ghosts that live in the cave.

The cave with a vertical drop of approximately 15 meters had been left unexplored for the same reason.

A team of professionals from the company ‘Hard Core Nepal’ are there to assist the entry through the use of gear assisting the descend into the cave. In fact, it was only after the exploration by the team of Hard Core Nepal in 2019 that the cave and it’s surroundings has been accessed by the locals and visitors alike.

As a matter of fact, several locals remembered being scared to even get to the vicinity of the cave and as a result, the cave was filled with lots of garbage and rocks as they had wanted to fill the cave up,

However, it is an enthralling experience getting inside and out of the cave and the stories that relate to the cave make it an even more exciting experience altogether.

The adventure contained within the cave and the fact that it is an another lesser explored destinations makes the Mysterious Cave at Rangbhang one of the attractions of the Millennium Trek.
